The story happened in a big dark house, with a staircase of fourteen steps and two landings and a dog, called Luna, all in the same story. It began 9 years ago when the dog arrived at the house. For the first 8 years, everything was fine, but when she turned 9, the problems started. On the second night after she turned 9 years old, Luna started barking while she was going down the stairs. All the family went quickly to see what had happened. They didn’t see anything strange, but Luna continued barking. When she stopped barking, she wouldn’t go down or up the stairs. The family was surprised. They tried everything to make the dog go down, but they were unsuccessful. The only way that Luna could go down was in the arms of someone. That night Eduardo, the dad of the family, took Luna in his arms and went down, then she slept on the ground floor. The next day she could go up the stairs so the family was very happy because the dog could go up, but their happiness didn’t last long because Luna couldn’t go down. She went up, but she didn’t go down.
Laura, the mother of the family, went to the supermarket to buy candies for Luna. After that, Laura put Luna’s candies and some food on the steps, but sadly the plan was a failure. Two days later Eduardo and Laura took Luna to the vet, Marcia, who told them that the dog was well and didn’t have any problems. Afterwards, they went back to their house and Luna could get out of the car, but she couldn’t go down the stairs. For the rest of the week, the parents took the dog in their arms every time Luna wanted to go down the stairs. One day, when the mum was going down with Luna in her arms, she had an idea: she was going to leave her on the first landing. She did that and magically Luna could go down the rest of the steps on her own. By the following week, Luna could go down in the arms of someone for the first steps down to the first landing, and then she continued alone. Suddenly Laura had another idea: she took Luna in her arms and left her on the fourth step. Surprisingly Luna could go down, so the next time Laura left the dog on the third step, but Luna went up, she didn’t go down. The family didn’t know what was going on in the first three steps.
Five days later, Santiago, the elder son, invited two girls to do the homework. When they arrived at the house, they went up to the first landing, and amazingly Luna went down the first three mysterious steps of the staircase, to welcome the girls and Santiago. Everybody was very happy because Luna went down those steps.
The dog started to go down the stairs normally again, but Santiago discovered something strange on the stairs, then the rest of the family. The family was amazed by what they were seeing, but they didn’t know what it was. With the help of technology, tests, and some specialists the family could know why the dog didn’t go down, but that’s another story…
